Text on back of Card: For centuries the land of Palestine was inhabited by a diverse population of Muslims, Christians, and Jews – most of them Arab. That all began to change during the first half of the 1900s when a group in Europe called Zionists began a colonial enterprise to take over the land for a Jewish state. “We came to a region of land that was inhabited by Arabs, and we set up a Jewish state. ... Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist, not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either.” “We'll make a pastrami sandwich out of them. We'll insert a strip of Jewish settlements in between the Palestinians, and then another strip of Jewish settlements right across the West Bank, so that in twenty-five years' time, neither the United Nations nor the United States, nobody, will be able to tear it apart.” The U.S. gives Israel $8 million per day. www.IfAmericansKnew.org Version Two: Land Grab/SettlementsDesigned by a Quaker organization in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Palestine-Israel Action Group.
